HairAid Donation Helps Bring Care and Dignity to Philermos House

Philermos House is incredibly grateful to Krystal and the wonderful HairAid team on the Gold Coast for their generous donation of high-quality hair care products to support our work at Philermos House in Southport, affectionately known as the “Big Red Shed.”

The generous donation included a fantastic supply of shampoos, conditioners and other hair care products, which will be available to people accessing the services at Philermos House.

With shower facilities among the services that will be available at Philermos House, these everyday essentials will provide an important practical resource for people experiencing disadvantage — helping support not only their immediate needs, but also a sense of dignity and wellbeing.

The generosity of the HairAid team also extended beyond Philermos House. With such a substantial donation, we were delighted to be able to share a supply of the products with Emmanuel City Mission in South Brisbane, supporting their important work with people experiencing disadvantage in and around Brisbane’s CBD.

Practical Support for Those Doing It Tough

Philermos House will provide a welcoming place where people experiencing hardship can access a range of practical supports. Alongside shower and laundry facilities, the House will provide meals and connect guests with a range of third-party services designed to assist people with their individual needs.

These services are part of our commitment to providing practical assistance while promoting dignity, compassion and connection.

We extend our sincere thanks to Krystal and the entire HairAid team for their kindness and generosity. Their support is helping Philermos House provide meaningful care to those in need — while also allowing us to extend that generosity to other organisations serving vulnerable people across the wider community.

Thank you, HairAid, for helping us make care and dignity part of every welcome at Philermos House.
