Philermos House — also known as The Big Red Shed — relies on the generosity and compassion of volunteers to deliver vital services to the community.
At Philermos House, there are a range of meaningful volunteering opportunities where you can make a genuine difference in people’s lives. Each day, we provide comfort, support, and essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness or facing challenging circumstances.
Ways You Can Get Involved

Individual Volunteering
If you are a member of the local community who wants to make a difference, and can offer a compassionate ear to guests, we would love to hear from you.
Corporate Volunteering
Opportunities for organisations and teams to give back while building connection and purpose through community service.
Student Placements
Hands-on experience for students completing university or TAFE qualifications.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Hold a valid Blue Card
